President & Managing Principal Prior to forming MultiState, Paul spent 11 years as Vice President and General Counsel of the Can Manufacturers Institute, where he was deeply involved in the industry's 50-state government relations program. Previously, he was deputy director of compliance for the Food and Drug Administration's Bureau of Product Safety and later was assistant general counsel for the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The son of a career foreign service officer, Paul holds degrees from the International School of Bangkok, the College of William & Mary, and Tulane University School of Law. |

Chairman & Principal During his 30-year career in government relations, Steve also served as legislative assistant to Congressman Bob Eckhardt (D-Texas), as a director of the Public Affairs Council, and as a member of the Business Roundtable's Washington Steering Committee and the public affairs committees of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers. At MultiState, Steve has concentrated his efforts on creating and implementing government relations strategies for corporations and associations to deal with state and local public policy issues. He also has managed MultiState's program to help companies market products and services to state and local governments. Steve has a BA in economics from Harpur College (State University of New York at Binghamton) and an M. Phil. in economics from George Washington University. |

Executive Vice President / Corporate Secretary & Principal Prior to joining MultiState, Marcie was executive
director of the State Government Affairs Council (SGAC), the preeminent
organization of corporations and trade associations involved in
state government relations, and its Foundation where she helped
develop continuing education programs for experienced state government
relations professionals. SGAC and SGERF were clients of a national
association management company where Marcie was a partner for
17 years, and also was executive vice president of an international
culinary association and staff vice president of a national association
of state financial institution regulators. Marcie is a past chair of the American Society
of Association Executives' (ASAE) Government Relations Section
Council and has served on the ASAE Board of Directors and Public
Policy Committee. She also served for five years as a founding
member of the Board of the Center for Ethics in Government under
the National Conference of State Legislatures' Foundation. Marcie earned the designation of Certified Association
Executive ASAE in 1982. She is a graduate of Villanova University
and received a Master's degree from Georgetown University. |

Senior Vice President & Principal Ed Griesmer joined MultiState as a vice
president in 1999, bringing with him a wealth of experience
and knowledge in the state legislative and regulatory tracking
marketplace. Ed has developed tracking solutions for clients'
state affairs programs for the past 12 years, and his expertise
makes MultiState the industry leader. Prior to joining MultiState,
Ed spent four years in senior marketing positions with two
state legislative and regulatory tracking companies. At MultiState, Ed is a partner and co-directs
MultiState's state and local tracking services as well as
managing the company's technology research and development.
In addition, he serves on the board of the Washington Area
State Relations Group and is an active member of the State
Government Affairs Council. Ed is a graduate of the University
of North Carolina at Charlotte. |

Senior Vice President & Principal Roxanne Frank, senior vice president of research,
joined MultiState in 1990 with the inception of its state
and local tracking and research department. She co-directs
that department, overseeing the day-to-day operations
of the company's corps of analysts and providing issue
guidance to clients for their tracking needs. She is also
responsible for directing the many research projects MultiState
undertakes for clients. Roxanne brings years of state and federal
experience to her work as a government affairs professional,
including working for the US House Ways and Means Subcomittee
on Oversight, and as both a legislative assistant to Wisconsin
State Senator Jim Moody and US Congressman Moody. Roxanne
earned her undergraduate degree from the University of
Maryland - College Park. |

Senior Vice President & Principal Jeff Hartgen joined MultiState as a vice
president in 2005, after almost five years with the global
consulting company, Accenture, where he served first as
a business development director for Accenture's Michigan
government practice and then as its national state &
local government relations manager. In that capacity,
Jeff managed lobbyists in 27 states and localities and
represented Accenture before national trade associations. Prior to Accenture, Jeff served in a variety
of capacities in Michigan state government, including
deputy chief of staff to the lieutenant governor, legislative
liaison to the Department of Management and Budget, district
and external affairs director for the senate majority
leader, and policy advisor to the senate majority leader.
He also served as a staff assistant to the United States
Senate Republican Policy Committee in Washington, DC.
He earned his undergraduate degree with a double major
in political science and history from the University of
Michigan and a Master of arts in history from the George
Washington University. |

Vice President Andy Trincia joined MultiState as a Vice
President in 2007, bringing to the firm 15 years of government
relations, public affairs and corporate communications
experience. He most recently was general manager of the
Burson-Marsteller affiliate offices in Bucharest, Romania,
and Sofia, Bulgaria. He also served as a Peace Corps volunteer
in Romania. Prior to his international assignment,
Andy was communications manager at The Boeing Company
in California, and was both director of government relations
and director of media relations at Fidelity Investments.
Earlier in his career, he held senior posts at Wachovia
Corporation and the International Franchise Association,
and worked as a newspaper reporter. At MultiState, he is responsible for a
wide variety of services to clients, as well as business
development efforts on the West Coast and nationally. Andy holds a bachelor's degree in journalism
from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a
Master's degree in business administration from the Executive
MBA program at Northeastern University in Boston. |

Vice President, Procurement Services Mitch Gorsen joined MultiState Associates
in 2002 after nine years as both a regional director of government
affairs and business development executive for EDS Corporation.
Mitch identified and pursued sales opportunities with state
and local governments as well as health care payors and
providers, realtors and manufacturers. Mitch represented
EDS Corporation before state and local legislatures, county
supervisors and national political and trade organizations.
Mitch also initiated and managed overall legislative issue
campaigns and managed political, legal and legislative consultants. Prior to EDS, Mitch was Vice President of
the Information Technology Association of America and a
legislative assistant to the US House Committee on Ways
and Means. He graduated from Drexel University and received
a JD/MPA from Syracuse University. |

Vice President, Administrative Services Mary Susan Braun, MultiState's Vice President
of Administrative Services, directs the firm's Association
Management Department. Susan joined MultiState in 1991.
She and her team provide human resources and headquarters
facility management, and financial management and bookkeeping
services to MultiState's trade association clients. Before joining MultiState, Susan was the
sole proprietor of Braun Bookkeeping Services, of which
MultiState Associates was a client. Prior to opening her
own firm, Susan spent a decade in financial management for
various businesses, including five years as controller for
Ward-Hale Design Associates. Susan is a graduate of East
Carolina University. |

Director, Administrative Services Carrie Calvin, MultiState's Director
of Administrative Services, manages the firm's Project Administration
and Lobbying Registration and Reporting Service. Carrie joined MultiState's
compliance unit in 2000. She is a specialist in the complex field of lobbying
registration and reporting, managing that responsibility for all lobbying clients.
In an ever-changing compliance environment, this is a critical area for our clients
when it comes to federal, state and local legislative, executive and
procurement-related filings. |

Senior Analyst
David Shonerd is a senior analyst and the manager of quality control for
the state and local tracking and research department. He joined MultiState
as a state analyst in 2002, and has since taken on managerial duties for
both the state and local research departments in addition to maintaining a
portfolio of clients. David has specialized in tracking environmental
issues at the state level for the past 10 years while at MultiState and
three other state legislative tracking companies. As the manager of quality
control, David is responsible for analyst training and support, as well as
maintaining MultiState's online resources.
David is a graduate of the University of Maryland - College Park and earned
a Masters degree in Public Administration from North Carolina State
University. While at Maryland, David served two internships in the United
States Senate. He also worked for two years as a research assistant at
NCFREE, the North Carolina Forum for Research and Economic Education, a
political research business association.
